Our Inquiry unit this term is
How can we look after our world?
What would happen if we didn't recycle?
To tune us in to our big question "Junk and Disorderly" come to visit us on Wednesday 7th Sept. They showed us how to recycle and reuse old paper to make large paper dolls. We bought in magazines, wrapping paper, cards, wallpaper and calendars and we had to "dress" our dolls using these. They talked to us about recycling, reusing and reducing to help look after our world.
We really enjoyed making our dolls, they look amazing. Come in and see them in the classroom!
Thank you "Junk and Disorderly"

Fire Station visit 14 June 2011
To finish our Firewise unit we went for a visit to the Napier Fire Station.
We saw the special clothes the fire officers have to wear. Caleb's dad and Junior tried them on!
They showed us the hose and we had to try and stop the water getting through. We all stood on it and we tried really hard but we we couldn't stop it.
Once we cleaned the cars we hopped into the fire truck!
We had a great time. Thank you Fire officers!
